Compassionate, Quality Veterinary Relief When You Need It

Policy & Rates

My Philosophy

To continue practicing a high standard of care with an emphasis on preventative care using techniques that strengthen the human animal bond. I will be an advocate for my patients’ well-being and use evidence-based medicine for the management of their acute and chronic illnesses. Every day I will bring a positive attitude and an enthusiasm to my work that will improve the moral of those around me. My medical records will be thorough, clearly written, and leave no questions as to the long-term plan for the patients I see. I will strive to educate my clientele and strengthen their confidence in their primary care facilities.

My Goals

  • To maintain an emphasis on preventative care and early diagnosis of chronic disease
  • To stabilize and treat any critical patient evaluated
  • To be relaxed and malleable, an interchangeable part
  • To generate an increased revenue by providing an up-to-date standard of care
  • To be efficient
  • To improve the knowledge base of my clientele and coworkers
  • To have a positive impact on my clients even during difficult circumstances
Minimum Booking

Booking requirements include a minimum of 6 hours of relief work, not including a lunch break, to be booked per day. Saturdays can be an exception to the 6 hour minimum. After dates are mutually agreed upon, a contract agreement will be emailed to the point of contact. Clients can sign electronically and return the contract via email. Alternatively, the contract can be printed, signed, and returned via direct mail. Relief work will not be available until a signed contract is received. A copy of the contract can be made available for review prior to booking upon request.

Current Rates

Daytime (Mon-Fri):  $90/hr.
Weekends (Sat/Sun), overnights, ER:  $115/hr.
Additional fees for Holidays.

As an independent contractor, I pay my own share of medicare and social security tax. This is commonly known as self-employment tax. I am responsible for my own health insurance, professional liability insurance, professional dues and licenses, life insurance, and do not charge additional fees for travel expenses coming to and from your practice. My hourly rate takes these factors into account, as well as my experience in general practice and emergency & critical care.

Billing

You will receive an invoice within 24-48 hours after completion of the last relief shift covered in that week. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice.  Payment can be made through your standard payroll on the nearest payroll date to the final shift worked.

Cancellation Policy

I understand that sometimes circumstances denote that scheduled work needs to be cancelled or changed. Any cancellations made outside of 30 days prior to the booked date will not incur a fee. However, cancellations made within 30 days of the agreed upon schedule will levy a 50% charge (ex. 4 hours billed for 8 hours scheduled) per day unless that date is re-booked. This protects me from loss of work when scheduling advanced bookings. Loss of bookings on short notice may not be able to be replaced. A good faith effort will be made on my own part to re-book any cancelled dates. However, it can be difficult to book specific dates on short (less than 30 day) notice. This policy is discretionary and will be applied on a case-by-case basis.
